Braves at Dodgers

The Dodgers and Braves met again on Monday night.  Both teams started off slowly, but things quickly picked up were they left off Saturday morning.

Declan Alsup helped the Dodgers stop the Braves from having a big inning in the 2nd.  He got the first out of the inning fielding a hard grounder at 2nd base and made a good throw to JT Fulmer at 1st.  Then, with the bases loaded and one runner already home for the Braves, Declan snagged a blistering line-drive and tossed the ball over to JT to complete the double-play, ending the inning.

Defense kept the Dodgers in the game again in the 3rd.  Ryan Haley’s inning-ending double play really got things going for the Dodgers.  The bats came alive in the bottom half of the inning as Declan, Ryan and Ben Wold all scored for the home team.  Ben and Declan both hit doubles tonight, each finishing the game going 3-4 with 2 RBIs a piece.  JT also batted in a run with a clutch double in the 5th.  Aidan McCarthy help the cause with a big night at the plate going 3-4, added a RBI, scored a run and showed some great hustle on the base paths.

Kade Ogden led the charge for the Braves again.  He went 4-5 from the leadoff position, with a deep hit to left field in the 4th and also pitched a solid 5th inning, striking out three.  Drake Wilbur and Alex Moirano also helped the Braves cause, both going 3-4 for the visitors.
