We're all about making friends!
Each year, CA District 57 hosts the Western Region Challenger Jamboree. This year, we are proud and honored to host 26 Challenger teams from all over the Bay Area (and one from Southern CA)! The Jamboree is on Saturday, May 26
th at the Dublin Sports Grounds (6700 Dublin Blvd).
The Challenger Division of Little League is a program for mentally and physically challenged youth, helping them to enjoy the full benefits of Little League participation in an athletic environment structured to their abilities.
We need buddies (kids and young adults ages 11-17) to help our kids who have developmental disabilities play baseball. For example, buddies help push players using wheelchairs around the base paths after a hit and help players get balls that get past them in the field, or someone they can hang out with in the dugout!
Buddies play a very important role in the Jamboree, and we would love for you to join us as a buddy. This experience truly is an enriching and rewarding experience, and one you will never forget!
“I volunteer as a buddy every year because I love baseball, and it’s really fun and rewarding to help other kids who can’t play baseball as easily as I can.” Matthew, 13 years old
